2014 CrossFit Games: Mid-Atlantic Regional

All regional event have elements of fun, and the Mid-Atlantic regional just outside of Washington, D.C. did not disappoint.  There were the usual amazing athletes, great media and Games staff, and packed arena.  But, when the power went out, that's where the real fun began.  Luckily, this venue had a high wall of windows, so when the lights went out mid-workout, the judges yelled to the athletes, "keep going, keep going!" while tracking time with handheld stopwatches.  I have to say, it was probably the most fun I've had shooting a regional event.  I quickly changed my camera settings and kept firing away.  You'll see the results in a few pictures where the lunging athletes are half shadowed.  It was awesome! As a side note, this venue was in the same parking lot as the stadium where the Washington Redskins play their home games. I'd like to go back someday soon.  There  are a million interesting things to do and see in the nations capitol!
